My name is Peter Beard and I live in the 7th district of WI. I will be running as an independent write-in candidate attempting to take over Tom Tiffany’s seat.
I am an application engineer for a telecommunications manufacturer. Essentially I fit the materials we manufacture into communications networks whether it be cable, tel-co, wireless, satellite, copper or fiber. My actual role is much more diverse but I do not wish to bore you with all of the randomness my days entail. I travel the country teaching people about these products and helping them to find the best choice for their needs. This has allowed me to meet many people, from many backgrounds, from all over the country, some of whom will also be tossing their hat into the ring with me in 2026, because of this I can tell you we all agree on a lot more than we disagree on.
I created this website & decided to attempt this David vs. Goliath fight out of pure frustration with how our government has been behaving around the world & treating We the People who are citizens of what was once this great country of ours.
There are a plethora of issues to be concerned with but for me there are two which stand above all else.
My first area of concern is ensuring our constitutional rights are restored and no longer infringed upon. There are so many facets of our policy tied directly to this issue today, I could probably write about all of it for years, but that will not change anything. Removing bad policy and ensuring these rights continue to exists will be the backbone of any vote I would cast, or policy I would introduce. Freedom of speech and the right to privacy are essential to what it means to be a US citizen, I fear these rights and more are slowly being disintegrated through bad policy. Our constitution is the foundation of this country and like much of our infrastructure it is in need of some maintenance.
Second is our foreign policy. Only 4% of people who voted in the 2024 election stated foreign policy as their number one issue of concern during polling. This very much worries me as our domestic policy follows our foreign policy. Today I see our foreign policy as sitting at the most disastrous point it has ever been in my lifetime. If this battle proves successful I would like to help guide our transition back to a foreign policy based on diplomacy and the betterment of all the people of the world. We need to lead by example not force.
In order for this project to make a difference it will take a lot of us working together. One or two seats won will not have enough voting power to sway the current momentum or change much of anything. I would love to see someone run on the POP2026 idea in every congressional district in this country. That would be a hell of an accomplishment but is a very lofty goal. If we had 200 people run it would be impressive and enough to show we can make a difference even if not everyone wins a seat. I think we are running out of time to restore this country to its former glory and see no way of that happening while the democrats and republicans remain in power.
